- I’m the one who just surprised @tracibabe. Took early flight home; missed my baby.

- the subway in DIA near my gate is deceptively far in relation to how it appears on the "you are here" map.

- I like the chipotle mayo with the honey oat bread for a sweet/spicy mix; adding the cucumbers to my turkey/ham sub however was a mistake.

- Great sig. line I just read from a tools and testing manager: "Cylons. Why testing matters."

- I smell revolution in the air. Need an appropriate hat. Suggestions? Then again, could just be lunch cooking, a different hat all together.

- The challenge with eating pistachios at the desk: keeping the keyboard from getting salty.

- Egg-batter, hot oil and @tracibabe is on vicodin while cooking. What could possibly go wrong?

- @chipd Well played sir. Well played.

- my attempt to get caught up on email, feeds and tweets became an epic fail. People kept chatting me up. Not a complaint; happy to listen.

- listening to talk on geodjango. python fandom increasing.

- @Icelander you write code?

- had a good first meeting for project @antthelimey and I are cooking. Saw some cool stuff in another. Productive morning!

- @chipd +1 for innovative troublemaking.

- @Icelander very insightful and I enjoy the fact I can give you crap across the aisle or from across the country via twitter.

- Where2.0 twitter traffic unacceptable low. Possible metric of conference worthyness the amount of backchannel tweets?

- @Icelander which is why I travel with an entourage of at least two red shirts at all times.

- Drove on twisty roads and saw big sequoias and redwoods today. Bought 3 trees today, have fun w/ that airport "security."

- dear @brightkite, I’d be more apt to try out your service more on my iPhone if it would stop making me log in everytime I go to use it.

- Seriously, Burlingame for a conference? Here for Where conference. Entertainment here includes watching planes land at SFO. Thanks O’Reilly!

- going to Sam’s Grill for dinner. Any recommends for places to get drinks tonight in SF?

- @chipd actually Denver only mildly tolerates you, but @graham310 indeed loves beer.

- at Azul’s. all the recommended bars in SF seem to be in alleys.

- why is it that in the center of tech universe, the SF BART stn announcers have creepy "war games" computer voices?

Twitter Daily Digest (2008-05-08)
- If only I’d been checking in on twitter more tonight. The impromptu @zappos party was 3 blocks away from my hotel; only got back 2hrs ago!

- I wish my friends Amy and Joe (and now baby Alex) lived closer so we could hang out more often (or we did). Another upside to visits to SF.

- Got a hybrid cab back from train, a singing homeless person got my door and I rode an elevator with 8 Russian mobsters. How was your night?

- Things learn from the Denver followers today: It’s Thursday, the definition if "vim" & @chipd is anxious to resume playing cowbell in a band

- @zappos Own it! Tell people you did it on purpose: You’re THAT dedicated to your brand.

- Final day at JavaOne. Need new suggestions on what to do in San Francisco tonight?

- @JasonCalacanis The Mahalo game walk throughs are great! The guides (and members) do a much better job than the "major" gaming portals.

- BTW: a MapQuest jRuby app won a shoot out in one of the JavaOne sessions yesterday. Devs are starting to get we’re not just your mom’s MQ.

- @traceym75 and @lilitroy: I expect to see ad pitches by CoB Friday. That of course would be tomorrow, as you’ve both already pointed out.

- @traceym75 The trick to handling marketing is to make it seem even edgier, then when you scale back to the edginess you wanted, it looks ok.

- @lilitroy You could say the same for baked beans.

- Off to meet @meangreenw at Starbucks, something about having too many bags to lug to the Moscone or something.

- @meangreenw got yelled at for trying to get me lunch. Spent thousands and thousands to do javaone, but getting me a $3 salad: near expul …

- so my laptop bag fell over w/@meangreenw’s dell in it as well as mine. Her screen’s cracked; my MacBook Pro: fine. Speaks volumes.

- netflix emailed: sent wrong DVD; corrected it, sent right one, issued a credit. Didn’t even know. @comcastcares: take a cust. serv. lesson!

- at Thai place on Geary St in SF. My shoes have been taken, waiter ordered for us. Getting interesting.

- When on the east coast, Denver tries sticking meetings on my calendar late PM, so of course since on west coast, they go early AM. Need FoD!

- @lilitroy I don’t think Denver could handle me there 24/7. Plus, you still have snow in April — increases my acquisition cost.

- @chipd and @lilitroy: No good thunderstorms either? WTF! PA’s aren’t the best, but at least we get ‘em.

- 1 more hour of JavaOne then need to take a baby bullet to Palo Alto to see old friends. Love SF area; I could live out here.
